Cake Competition
Date: Saturday, July 4th

Location: Smith County AG Center
A Decorated Cake Contest to celebrate our country’s
250th birthday marking the anniversary of the signing of
the Declaration of Independence in 1776.
All fair attendees are invited to come by the Ag Center
for America’s 250th Birthday Party and enjoy homemade
birthday cake (while it lasts) and enjoy Don Kannapel on
the keyboard.
All cakes entered will be cut and served to fairgoers after judging.

Rules:
1. All entries must be prepared by participant
2. May be sheet cake or layer cake
3. Interior cake, icing and decoration will all be judged
4. Cakes should be entered on a sturdy cake board or base
5. Participants Must pre-register by July 1st, 2026 (see above)
6. Only one entry per person
7. All cakes will be cut after judging and served to fair goers
Judging Criteria:
Judges will evaluate both exterior (decoration and icing) and interior cake quality.
Decoration and icing will be judged on following: theme (America 250 Birthday Cake), eye appeal,
neatness, originality and taste. Internal cake will be judged on
proper texture, moistness, crumb and taste.
Directions For Entry: Bring your cake to the Ag Center from
5:00 to 5:30, your cake is your free ticket to the fair (1 ticket per
cake). Enter thru the BACK GATE (GATE 2) after parking. The
back gate attendant will call for a cart to transport you and your
cake to the Ag Center for entry where judging will take place.
